We are so excited to finally share the news!
Thanks to our wonderful community, OP was voted Charlotte's Best Elementary School 2022! Thank you for voting and showing everyone that OP IS THE PLACE TO BE!
Our next school day is Tuesday, November 1st, and we're going GOLD! Please join us and wear all the gold, glitter, sparkles and sequins and come to school ready to celebrate!

OP’s Together We Grow Annual Fundraiser has officially begun!
We partied at the Fall Festival to start us off and now it’s time to get to work! Let’s show our dedication to keeping OP the place to be!
This year our goal is to raise $45,000 to help make our school the best we can! We will continue to update our media center’s collection, purchase classroom supplies, fund field trips and support our teachers, their training, our garden program and so much more!
The funds that we raise during this campaign are essential to a successful year.
Students have the opportunity to fundraise through the website and win raffle prizes! If you are registered on the site and updated your child’s teacher for this school year, your child already has a fundraising page that you can customize, and share.

Our event 💁♀️ planners need your help to volunteer during the event to make this years festival our best one yet. Please join us and lend a hand to help us to make it run smoothly💪
After School Yoga

Twist Kids Foundation is returning to OP for a fall session of Kids Yoga & Mindfulness. Classes meet Tuesdays after school from 3:15-4:15 pm beginning on October 4 for students in 1st - 5th grades. The session will run for 8 weeks and is $160. Scholarships are available.

Chess Club

CHESS CLUB
Chess Club meetings are held on Mondays at 7:30am in the Media Center and Science Lab, starting Oct. 3. Chess is a game which helps students build concentration, confidence and creativity. Students of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to participate! For grades K-2, we ask that you consider if your child has a demonstrated interest in the game.
An optional informational meeting will be held virtually over Zoom on Tuesday, Sep. 27 at 7pm.
*Zoom link will be sent out the day of the meeting.

Scarecrow Donation Request

It's that time of year again at OP! Third and fourth graders have planted their gardens, and OP students will need to build some scarecrows to protect their gardens. Please consider cleaning out your closets and donating to help our gardens. We need button down shirts, pants with belt loops, and pillow cases. You may send donations in with your child, or if you plan to be in the building you can drop items off in the donation bin in the lobby. Thanks in advance for your help!
